HAS A LONG, PROUD HISTORY
While our company was incorporated in 1914, its roots go back to 1800, when
it rented horses and buggies to people arriving from New York City on the Long
Island Rail Road to live or spend summers "in the country." The
company's workers acted as carpenters, electricians and horse transporters for
those who came to live in the area.
It wasn't long before the company realized that the equipment it used to
haul lumber, tools and other items could be used to move a family's household
goods, and thus one of the first moving companies on Long Island -- and in the
entire nation -- was born.
Today, W.P. Davis operates its own
fleet of the most modern trucks with workers who are trained and fully qualified
as professional packers, loaders and movers. The company also maintains large,
modern warehouses in both Long Island, New York and Palm Beach, Florida.
